Project Profiles

    In addition to the project profiles for the facilities described below in this section, Source, Inc. has provided services to evaluate and review several processes within numerous existing wastewater plant operations.  We are familiar with current technologies including closed-loop reactor systems, sequencing batch reactor process systems, rotating biological contractors, disk filters, traveling bridge filters and others.  Source, Inc.'s staff have attended factory training seminars specific to a variety of wastewater treatment process units.

  • Sunset Captiva WWTP

Rated 25,000 gpd precast concrete modular treatment facility utilizing the extended aeration process.  Components consist of surge/flow equalization tank and pumping, bar screening chamber, aeration tank with diffused air system, hopper-style settling tank, chlorine contact tank, gravity sand filtration and aerobic digestion tank age.  Plant effluent flows to a distribution box for drain field disposal.

  • Spanish Wells WWTP

Rated 125,000 gpd precast concrete modular wastewater treatment facility utilizing the extended aeration process.  Components consist of a separate surge/flow equalization tank and pumping, influent bar screen chamber, aeration compartment with diffused air header piping, hopper-style settling tank compartment, chlorine contact zone, gravity sand filtration and aerobic digestion.  Reclaimed effluent from this facility flows to an isolated pond on golf course for ultimate disposal as golf irrigation.

  • Oakhaven WWTP

Rated 15,000 gpd cylindrical steel package treatment facility utilizing the extended aeration process.  Components consisted of surge tankage and pumping, aeration tanks  with diffused air header and drop diffusers, hopper-style settling tank, chlorine contact tank, gravity sand filtration and aerobic digestion.  Effluent from this facility is disposed of via a drain field.

  • Gulf Environmental Services, Three Oaks WWTF

The latest expansion included upsizing the existing 0.75 mgd treatment facility to 1.5 mgd utilizing a loop-type extended aeration process.  Individual components for this facility consist of influent flow measuring/recording, pista-style grit removal, static screens, flow equalization, variable speed surge pumping with set rate pumping control, closed loop reactor (two units), circular clarifier tanks (three units), ABW sand filters, chlorine contact tankage (two parallel units), effluent measuring/recording, effluent transfer pumping, effluent storage tankage (standard and substandard), rate set controlled return/waste sludge pumping, aerobic digestion tankage with diffused air system and fixed air headers and sludge stabilization tankage.  Effluent from this facility is used to supplement irrigation water supply for three nearby golf courses.  This facility complies with the requirements for "Class I" reliability as established by the USEPA and the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

  • Gulf Environmental Protection, San Carlos WWTF

Rated 0.300 mgd poured-in-place concrete treatment facility utilizing the extended aeration process.  Components consist of influent bar screen with flow splitting, parallel aeration tank, rectangular clarifiers, ABW filter, chlorine contact tank, effluent transfer pumping, bolt-together glass-lined effluent storage tank and aerobic digesters.  Effluent from this facility is used to supplement irrigation water supply for an adjacent golf course.

  • Forest Utilities WWTF

Rated 0.500 mgd poured-in-place reinforced concrete treatment facility utilizing a modified complete mix process.  Components consist of an influent bar screening device, flow equalization tankage, step aeration with diffused air system, rectangular settling tanks (two parallel units), ABW sand filter, chlorine contact tank, effluent transfer pumping, on-site standard and substandard effluent storage, aerobic digestion with capabilities for stabilization and sludge drying beds.  Effluent from this facility is utilized as part of the irrigation system for the adjacent golf courses.

  • Black Island Resort WWTP

A modular precast concrete treatment plant rated at 63,000 gpd utilizing the extended aeration process.  Components consist of surge/flow equalization and pumping, influent screening aeration, hopper-style settling tankage, chlorine contact and aerobic digestion.  Effluent is disposed of via subsurface absorption/drain field.

  • Cross Creek Community WWTF

Rated 0.250 mgd tilt-up slab modular precast concrete treatment facility utilizing the extended aeration process.  Components consist of influent metering/recording, influent screening, flow equalization, surge pumping with set rate control, aeration with diffused air headers and drops, rectangular settling tank, two parallel gravity sand filters with chlorine contact tanks, metered effluent transfer pumping, on-site bolt-together glass-lined steel storage tank convertible for standard or substandard effluent storage, default controlled effluent diversion, filter mud wells and multiple aerobic digester tanks.  Effluent from this facility is primary source of water for the adjacent golf course.

  • Eagle Ridge Utilities WWTF

Rated 0.443 mgd treatment facility utilizing the contact stabilization process.  Components consist of multiple tank surge/flow equalization, surge pumping, primary and secondary screening, grit removal, two parallel ring steel package treatment units with contact re-aeration and digestion zones and center circular clarifier tanks, ABW sand filter with manual backup filter, chlorine contact tanks, flow metering/recording, effluent transfer pumping, substandard lined storage ponds and unlined standard effluent storage pond.  Treated effluent from this facility is mixed with surface water and utilized for golf course irrigation.

  • Florida Cities Water Company, Waterway Estates S/D, Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility

Rated as a 1.20 mgd Class I reliability treatment facility utilizing the contact stabilization process.  Components consist of influent commuters, flow equalization with set rate transfer pumping, two parallel ring steel package treatment units with contact, re-aeration and digestion zones and circular clarifiers, nitrogen/phosphorous removal filters, ultraviolet disinfection and aerobic digestion.  Effluent treated at this facility is disposed of via subaqueous river outfall.

  • Berry Citrus Process Industrial WWTF

Rated as a 0.850 mgd industrial waste treatment facility utilizing a patented nutrient removal process.  Treatment components consist of primary treatment (screening, aeration, settling), wetlands contact, metered effluent transfer plumbing and filtration.  Effluent processed is reused as a supplemental water supply for crop irrigation in the surrounding citrus groves.
